  1. Division 1 certainly as a lot more interesting final match-ups with Cory, Feeny, Topanga *and* Shawn. I wonder who will end up meeting Eric for the Div 2 championship?

    1. Yeah, the original plan had been to get Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and Eric all separate enough to be in the final four together but it was decided the one of the two girls deserved to be in the Final Four too, and that they were probably more deserving of a quadrant of their own over Topanga.

Honestly, Feeny being seen as a viable candidate for actually winning the whole shebang caught me off-guard. I thought he'd be in the Elite 8, but certainly not the Final 4.

    2. I can certainly see Feeny getting into the final 4. In my opinion only Cory was more important in BMW. I would take Feeny over pretty much anyone who isn't Cory or maybe Riley. Even if Shawn was a more interesting character, Feeny was close and Daniels clearly the best performer in the franchise. That is a tough combination to beat.

    3. Count me in as a fan who feels that Feeny is the best character in the series. The guy elevates BMW as a whole into greatness, IMO. The perfect blend of drama, comedy, and wisdom!

  2. I had to go with Farkle and Maya.

Maya's selection should be obvious and Farkle is a more interesting than thug Joey. I also think Corey Fogelmanis is doing at least as good a job as Blake did.

  3. Maya over Morgan #1: Maya is just the better character at this juncture, and while unfair to the then very young Morgan, that's just how this one broke.

Farkle over Joey: Farkle is thus far a key cog in how GMW works, even if not utilized all the time. Plus, I'm hoping this "new" Farkle we're getting changes up some of those cons listed above for the better. Joey was fun and all, but was just usually a comedic device, and not much more.

  4. Maya is obviously leagues ahead of both Morgans put together, so therefore she wins.

Farkle is possibly my favorite new character in GMW. Next to Maya, he has the most potential for character growth in the series. Some of which already appears to be already happening. But unlike Maya, he has the freedom to be more comedic. And within a comedy that's extremely important.

  5. Hey sorry to have been absent the last few weeks. I was in the middle of quite a big move but it's good to be back! I'm a little late but congrats on the anniversary of the blog. I commented on the original post but it's so late I was worried you might not see it. So glad you stuck with it! I visit this site more than twitter.

This is such a fun idea Christian and Sean I've had a blast catching myself up on the rankings. It's clearly a lot of work that 's gone into it so we really appreciate it. I also love the idea of having riley or maya in the top four. They are both very well developed characters and deserve a shot. I still don't know who I'll choose between the two of them though, it's gonna be a tough call.

    1. There's a section of the site that shows us the comments in order of posting, so we see everything that comes in :)

Thanks for all the kind words and support. We love your contributions and the way you think about the show, so it's great to have you. I regretted not including you in that doodle, but "magnifying glass with high cheekbones and classy hair" doesn't actually make sense when you try to draw it.

    2. Welcome home, Good Looking Detective. I, for one, missed you.

    3. Hahaha thanks guys. Happy to be back, and just in time for the elite 8. This is going to get very heated. Also Sean I was surprised to not see Dancing Guy anywhere in the bracket. I had him pegged for the win.

    4. Dancing Guy was pitched as I recall, but the laws of the bracket forbade anyone who did not have a line from being voted for.

    6. Don't beat yourself up. My mistake for not being here to remind you, I dropped the ball haha but this is gonna throw off my bracket. So where can I find these commenter doodles?? I didnt see them on the posts that I checked

    7. Did I not just say that the laws of Character Battle Rounds tend to forbid competition from silent characters? Let alone extras that appear one time in a Season 2 episode. Don't get me wrong, I love Dancing Guy as much as...well pretty much everyone who isn't Sean.

    8. Oh, Good Looking Detective, check under Caricatures. I'm the stack of papers labeled "By Cryptid."

    14. The Dancing Guy episode was just on today on MTV2. I saw it and thought of your blog.

    15. Of course I know you're just playing with me. Besides, with all due respect Sean, I did three turns in the Harry Potter Shipping Wars, stayed for years after the official ceasefire behind enemy lines in the Avatar: The Last Airbender Campaign, watched in dismay as the author himself advocated and escalated the conflicts of the Fallout Valley Youth Zone in the "Gone" wars. It takes a lot to scare me.

  6. I felt a little bad voting for Joey over Farkle, but honestly so much bugs me about Farkle that I'm still not entirely sure I like him in spite of the improvements made since the start of GMW.

I'm not exactly a huge Maya fan, mostly because I dislike the way she treats Cory...Shawn was never like that with Alan. Sure, he could be a bit of a tool to Feeny or Turner but Cory was always there to call him out on in. That hasn't happened yet and it kinda bugs me.

Oh and Farkle over Joey. Joey was whiny and didn't do much after he split from Harley. Farkle has had some development.
