Special Event: BMW/GMW Character Battle

Welcome, welcome, one and all, to the (as far as I know) first ever Boy/Girl Meets World Character Battle!

It's a massive picture, so good luck to you phone users.
The bracket was carefully seeded to allow for interesting matchups, without eliminating important characters too early. 


Every day a new set of 1v1 matchups will be posted here on the blog using one of these embedded polls:

There isn't actually much battling to do, but names are important. Christian and I have designed a 64-slot bracket of characters from the combined Meets World universes: You can see the bracket for yourselves here!

It will take a second to register your vote, and if you refresh it SHOULDN'T allow you to vote again. If you manage to be the first person to vote, it will say "Vote Total: 0" after voting, but if you refresh it'll go up to 1. So it's counting it, but displaying the total before you voted. I don't know why.

What exactly are you voting on? This is essentially a popularity poll. You choose whichever character you like more! This includes whatever criteria you personally deem important. The crucial component, though, is that you look at the characters' entire history, across both series, to make your decision. And that's all there is to it.

Don't worry, each set of matchups LASTS for three days! So you'll have plenty of time to toss your hat into the ring. After the third day, we'll announce that set's winners and update the bracket for everyone to see. 

The first round will be one color-division per day, so we'll see you on Wednesday for Blue Division's matches! Those will, of course, stay open through Friday.

With that said and done, any interesting matches or potential matches you'd like to see? Rooting for any underdogs? Personally, I'm looking at Griff and my girl Lauren to run the gauntlet.

I would recommend everyone fill out their own bracket BEFORE looking at anyone else's, including ours, because you don't want your mind poisoned. The power of suggestion is very real. This is going totally by the honor system that you don't change your bracket after you fill it out. So don't be a chump.

Hey! Christian here! Just popping in to say you have YOURS TRULY to thank for this AMAZING idea. I suggested it to Sean and he was like "That sounds like too much work!" and I was like "Come on!" and he was like "Okayyyy." But, you have Sean to thank for designing AND MAKING that gorgeous bracket and that hideous image of me (taken from archival footage on this very site!) as a carnival barker. And you have us both to thank for the seeding! If you know anything about me, you know I like to rank and list things, so it was a lot of fun divvying out who was more crucial to the franchise than whom. 

I'd like to know the answers to Sean's questions myself, and I'd also like to hear predictions of how

this will go. What will the Elite Eight look like? The Final Four? The TERRIFIC TWO? Who will win? Eric? Shawn? Someone else?* The power is yours! 

In fact, feel free to fill out your brackets like it's March Madness. We... have no prizes to give you if your bracket is the most correct. But you'll get prestige.

In fact, I think Sean and I are going to fill out our own brackets too. Likely a mix of actual predictions and our dearest hopes. And so we can TRASH TALK each other and find out who is the superior person at predicting who people like in the Meets World Cinematic Universe.  

For the record, it WAS too much work. Like five hours. But it's worth it, because this is going to be awesome.

Ha. Lauren over Topanga. I applaud the sentiment, but just GIVE ME your money. Wendy over Amy? I don't even.... what is this weird Wendy thing you have? No one cares about Wendy but you. No one. The actress who played Wendy doesn't care about Wendy.

Haters gonna hate. I'm willing to put my heart on the line for these characters. Christian the robot goes with all the easy ones. See you in grand finals.
